Our approach
You spend weeks planning a trip and thousands booking it. Then a family emergency, an illness, or a weather event throws everything off. Without travel insurance, you lose the money. With the right policy, you get it back. And if you get sick or hurt while you're gone, your health insurance may not cover you, especially outside the U.S.
We help Idaho families choose travel insurance that matches the trip they're actually taking. A weekend at Schweitzer has different needs than two weeks in Europe or an Alaskan cruise. We look at trip cost, destination, health coverage gaps, and your comfort level. Then we present options, explain what's covered and what isn't, and send you off with one less thing to worry about.
coverage
Trip cancellation and interruption
Reimburses prepaid, non-refundable trip costs if you cancel or cut short for a covered reason. Illness, injury, family emergency, severe weather. The money you already spent doesn't have to be money you lost.
Emergency medical abroad
Pays for emergency medical treatment when your domestic health insurance doesn't cover you. A broken ankle in Cancun or food poisoning in Rome shouldn't cost you $15,000 out of pocket.
Medical evacuation
Covers emergency transport to an adequate medical facility or back to the U.S. Air evacuation can cost $50,000 to $250,000 depending on location. This is the coverage you hope you never use.
Cruise coverage
Missed port departures, itinerary changes, medical care onboard and at port, and evacuation from the ship. Cruises are expensive and the things that go wrong are unique to being on water.
Cancel for any reason (CFAR)
Optional upgrade that reimburses 75% of trip costs if you cancel for any reason, even cold feet. Must be purchased within 14 to 21 days of booking. Peace of mind for expensive trips.
Annual multi-trip plans
Year-round coverage for frequent travelers. Every trip during the policy year is covered without separate enrollment. Simplifies things for families who take multiple trips a year.
We match coverage to your trip
Destination, cost, duration, and health coverage gaps. We recommend the right plan for the trip you're actually taking.
We compare providers
Multiple travel insurance carriers with clear comparisons of benefits, limits, exclusions, and total cost.
We're here if something goes wrong
Medical emergency abroad? Need to cancel last minute? Call us. We coordinate with the insurer so you can focus on getting home.
You planned this trip for months. Protect it for a fraction of the cost.
Travel insurance typically costs 4 to 8% of your trip. For a $5,000 vacation, that's $200 to $400 to protect the whole investment. And for international travel, it fills the medical gap your health insurance leaves behind.
What Business Owners Ask Us Most
As soon as possible after booking. Pre-existing condition waivers and CFAR are only available if purchased within 14 to 21 days of your initial deposit. The sooner you buy, the longer you're covered.
Most domestic plans, including Medicare, provide very limited or no coverage outside the U.S. Travel medical insurance fills that gap.
Typically 4 to 10% of your trip cost. A $5,000 trip might cost $200 to $500 to insure. Modest relative to the investment it protects.
For cheap, refundable trips, probably not. For trips with significant non-refundable costs (resort bookings, ski packages, event tickets), cancellation coverage protects your money.
An optional upgrade that lets you cancel for any reason and get 75% back. Must be purchased within 14 to 21 days of your deposit and requires insuring the full trip cost. Worth it for expensive trips where plans might change.
