Our approach
Most employers renew the same health plan every year without knowing whether it's competitive, whether their employees are using it well, or whether a completely different funding structure could save them real money. That's not a plan. That's a habit.
We look at your business differently. Before we open a single carrier portal, we benchmark what you're paying against what similar employers in your industry and region are paying. Then we evaluate every funding option available to you: fully insured, level funded, self-funded, and PEO. Some of those names sound complicated, but the concept is simple. We find the structure where you get the most coverage for the least money, and we manage it all year so your HR team isn't stuck playing insurance help desk.
coverage
Fully insured
The carrier takes the risk. You pay a fixed premium per employee per month and they handle claims. It's the simplest structure, and for smaller employers or businesses that want predictable costs with no surprises, it's often the right call.
Level funded
You pay a fixed monthly amount that covers expected claims, stop-loss protection, and admin fees. If your team stays healthier than projected, you get money back. It's gaining traction with employers in the 25 to 200 range who want some upside without full self-funding risk.
Self-funded
You pay claims directly and carry stop-loss insurance to cap your downside. You see every dollar, control plan design completely, and keep the savings when claims are low. Best for employers with 75+ lives and a stomach for some variability.
PEO and association plans
Professional Employer Organizations and industry associations let small employers access large-group rates they'd never get on their own. If you have 5 to 25 employees and premium quotes make you wince, this is worth exploring.
HSA-qualified high deductible plans
Lower premiums paired with tax-advantaged Health Savings Accounts. Employees build healthcare savings over time while you reduce your premium spend. Works with any funding model and pairs naturally with our FSA/HRA/HSA programs.
UBA benchmarking
We're Idaho's only United Benefit Advisors partner. That gives us access to the largest health plan survey in the country. We don't guess whether your plan is competitive. We show you exactly where you stand against thousands of employers nationwide.
We benchmark before we quote
We pull your current plan data and measure it against your industry, your region, and your size bracket. You'll know where you stand before we change a thing.
We model every funding option
Fully insured, level funded, self-funded, PEO. We run the numbers on each and show you the trade-offs in plain language so you can make a real decision.
We manage it all year
Open enrollment, claims questions, compliance deadlines, employee education. Our job doesn't end when the plan binds. That's when it starts.
Stop guessing whether your plan is competitive. We'll show you.
Most brokers hand you a renewal and call it a day. We benchmark your plan against the largest employer health survey in the country, model every funding structure available to you, and tell you exactly where the savings are.
What Business Owners Ask Us Most
Two. That's the minimum for a group plan in Idaho. Different carriers and funding models have different thresholds, but if you have at least two eligible employees, you have options. We help you find the right one for your size.
Level funded gives you a fixed monthly bill with the chance of a refund if claims are low. Self-funded means you pay claims as they come, with stop-loss insurance as a safety net. Level funded is often the stepping stone to full self-funding. We help you decide which fits based on your size, cash flow, and comfort level.
We benchmark it. Using UBA's national survey data, we compare your premiums, plan design, employer contribution, and cost trends against similar employers. It's complimentary, it takes about a week, and there's no obligation to change anything.
Yes. We show up to your open enrollment meetings, explain the plan options to your employees in language they understand, and answer their questions so your HR team doesn't have to. Most clients tell us it's the most valuable thing we do.
They call us. Not the carrier's 800 number. Us. We have people here who know your plan and will work the issue until it's resolved. That's what having a local broker means.
