Our approach
Every business faces liability the moment it opens its doors, signs a contract, or delivers a product. GL is the starting point of your commercial insurance program, and getting it right means understanding your operations, not just checking boxes on an application. Your contracts require specific limits. Your landlord needs to be listed as additional insured. Your vendors expect certificates of insurance by Tuesday. This is the coverage that touches everything.
We take the time to understand how your business actually works before we place your GL. We review your contracts for insurance requirements, manage your certificate of insurance process so you stay compliant, and structure your limits and endorsements around your real exposure. Then we shop it across multiple carriers to find the best combination of coverage and price. GL is commoditized at most agencies. We treat it like it matters, because it does.
coverage
Bodily injury and property damage
Covers claims when someone is injured on your premises or your operations damage someone else's property. Slip-and-fall at your office, delivery truck backs into a client's fence, customer trips on your sidewalk. The bread and butter of GL.
Products and completed operations
Claims from products you sell or work you've already finished. A contractor gets sued for faulty wiring installed last year. A manufacturer faces a claim from a product defect. This coverage responds after the work is done and you've moved on.
Personal and advertising injury
Claims of libel, slander, copyright infringement, or false advertising. If a competitor sues over something in your marketing, or a client claims defamation, this part of your GL responds.
Contractual liability
Covers liability you assume under contracts: hold-harmless agreements, indemnification clauses, lease requirements. If you sign contracts (and every business does), this coverage is doing more work than you realize.
Medical payments
Pays minor medical expenses for people injured on your premises regardless of fault. A customer gets a small cut, a visitor twists an ankle. Med pay resolves it quickly before it becomes a lawsuit. Typically $5K to $10K per person.
Certificate and endorsement management
We manage your COI process: issuing certificates, adding additional insureds, tracking contract requirements. When a client needs proof of coverage by end of day, we handle it so you don't have to chase paperwork.
We learn your operations
Your contracts, your customer interactions, your vendor relationships. We understand how your business works before we quote a single carrier.
We build your program
Right carriers, right limits, right endorsements. We match coverage to your contracts, your industry, and your exposure.
We manage COIs year-round
Certificates, additional insureds, contract compliance. We handle the paperwork that keeps you eligible for work.
Your GL does more work than any other policy. Make sure it's doing it right.
Most GL policies are placed in 15 minutes. Ours are built by reviewing your contracts, understanding your operations, and shopping multiple carriers. It takes longer. It works better.
What Business Owners Ask Us Most
Most businesses carry $1M per occurrence and $2M aggregate at minimum. Many contracts and leases require these limits or higher. We review your contracts and recommend limits that keep you compliant and protected.
A BOP bundles GL with commercial property into one policy, often at a lower combined premium. Standalone GL makes sense when you don't have significant property exposure. We help you determine which structure fits.
It extends your GL to another party (a client, landlord, or GC) for claims arising from your operations. It's standard in most commercial contracts. We handle the endorsement and issue the certificate.
If you interact with clients, sign contracts, or deliver products, yes. Your homeowners policy excludes business activities. A GL policy protects you where your homeowners won't.
Claims history impacts pricing. Frequency hurts more than severity. We advocate with carriers, present your safety improvements, and shop the market when needed to manage renewal impact.
